Dad and Trusted Advisor
When I was invited to become part of Trusted Pathway, I jumped at the opportunity to come out of retirement and continue serving Individuals with Disabilities in a different capacity than where I retired from. Having spent over 25 years in my own small business, a commercial/residential glass and glazing company, I learned early on what it takes to be responsible for other people’s livelihood and well-being.
Shortly after serving as the Deputy Treasurer of the State of Ohio under Treasurer, Josh Mandel, I was offered an opportunity to become the Assistant Director of Opportunity for Ohioans with Disabilities. I must say, after owning and operating my own business, which was always my life’s goal, the most gratifying of my work career was truly serving as Assistant Director of OOD. Working with Director Kevin Miller, the supporting leadership, and the committed staff in serving our Individuals with Disabilities was truly an amazing experience.
As I mentioned earlier, coming out of retirement to continue serving Individuals with Disabilities in another capacity was only half the story. The second half of the story was the chance to work side by side with my daughter Jennifer. She brings a wealth of experience in the benefits arena, compassion, and intensity to improve people’s lives— something that inspires me daily.
